- Union Tank Car Company is seeking applicants to become a member of our production team at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Muscatine, Iowa.
- Owned by the Marmon Group and Berkshire Hathaway, UTLX headquarters is in Chicago's financial district, close to major public transportation hubs.
Responsibilities
- Maintains equipment and replenishes the short supply.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and assembly instructions
- Ability to perform general mathematical calculations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and division
Requirements
- Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
- Grinds girth weld level on floor when required.
- Foils and tapes all stainless steel inside tank car as required.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or pass a Combined Basic Skills Test
- Must be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently
