Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex specialty tax engagements, including federal and state R&D credit studies, related credits and incentives engagements, and Section 174 analyses.
- document conclusions in clear, defensible technical memoranda suitable for IRS and state review.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Deliver engaging presentations and clearly communicate project findings to client leadership.
- Support business development efforts, including proposals, prospect meetings, and practice development initiatives.
- Research, analyze, and resolve advanced tax issues; document conclusions in clear, defensible technical memoranda suitable for IRS and state review.
- Support the continued growth of the Specialty Tax Services practice, particularly in the areas of federal and state R&D credits and incentives.
Requirements
- 4+ years of specialized experience in federal and state R&D tax credits and incentives, including Section 174 and related specialty tax consulting matters.
- Active CPA and/or bar license required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience reviewing work, managing projects, and mentoring junior team members.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, or a related technical or quantitative field.
- Experience in public accounting, tax consulting, or law firm environments focused on specialty tax, credits and incentives, or multi-state tax matters.
- Experience leading projects or supervising junior team members.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
