Responsibilities
- The Software Engineer/Developer will join Wadsworth Center's Laboratory Information Management System (CLIMS) team to perform computer application maintenance, development and integration activities to support core LIMS functionality and needs for internal users.
- The Software Engineer/Developer will maintain software components needed to support the evolving laboratory workflows as well as the data generated by these workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field
- OR an Associate's degree in a related field and two years of computer programming, database design/development, or systems analysis
- If selected to interview, in-person interviews will be required.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and two years of computer programming, database design/development, or systems analysis; OR four years of such experience.
- Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
- Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Nice to have
- At least one year of experience writing and debugging Python or Bash scripts for system automation.
- At least one year of experience coding TypeScript.
- At least one year of experience in Linux/Unix administration including shell scripting, permission and CLI-based troubleshooting
- At least one year of experience with relational databases including Oracle.
- At least one year of experience working in a clinical or environmental laboratory environment with use of Rhapsody/ HL7 messaging
- Experience with building and deploying application containers using Docker/Podman, Kubernetes or Openshift
- At least one year of experience configuring and/or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and version control in GitLab
- At least one year of experience using Java, Angular and React
Compensation
- Minimum: $69,764.00 - Maximum: $69,764.00 Annually
- Positions with a designated work location in New York City, Nassau, Rockland, Suffolk, or Westchester Counties will receive a $4,000 annual downstate adjustment (pro-rated for part-time positions).
