Responsibilities

  • Own automotive reliability and qualification strategy for LiDAR systems and critical sub-assemblies.
  • Lead environmental and life testing including thermal cycling and thermal shock, vibration and mechanical shock, HTOL / HTOE, damp heat, humidity, corrosion, contamination exposure
  • Drive single-fault robustness validation in support of DFMEA and safety concepts.
  • Perform and lead failure analysis, working cross-functionally with EE, ME, optics, firmware, and systems teams.
  • Define pass/fail criteria, degradation limits, and design margins, not just "run the test."
  • Own automotive EMC compliance and robustness testing, including CISPR 25 (emissions & immunity), ISO 11452 (ALSE, BCI, TEM), ISO 7637 (transients), ISO 10605 (ESD), IEC 61000-6-X
  • Lead pre-compliance testing and debug, partnering closely with EE and layout teams.
  • Drive EMC mitigation strategy - filtering, grounding, shielding, harnessing, and layout guidance
  • Plan, lead, and technically represent Aeva at third-party EMC test labs.
  • Support OEM EMC reviews, audits, and issue resolution.
