About the role

The incumbent ensures the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of financial records while maintaining compliance with State policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing comprehensive financial and administrative support to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payments, receivables, and financial transactions.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting theories, principles, methods, practices, and terminology.
Knowledge of computerized accounting systems, strong Excel skills are required
Knowledge of standardized desktop technology and products.
Ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles to account for revenue, expenditures, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Ability to communicate effectively and function effectively as a member of a team.

This position performs pre-audits of invoices and travel reimbursement vouchers and other financial documents to verify compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and accounting requirements prior to payment.
