About the role
- In this role, you will operate at the boundary between hardware and software, working closely with electrical, controls, and higher-level software teams to ensure reliable, observable, and debuggable systems.
- All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for real-time motor control, sensing, system monitoring, and power electronics
- Drive technical decision making and implementation through hands-on and technically deep work
- The foundations they build to empower not only the company, but entire industries.
Requirements
- We have no requirements for a background in robotics, but find most success with engineers excited by the domain and looking to apply their expertise and experience in a new, fascinating area.
- Growth + Optimism: You are excited by new domains and challenges, and eager to pick up new context to accelerate your impact
- You have a strong technical background, including 4+ years working in complex environments

- Languages: C / C++
- RTOS: FreeRTOS or similar
- Supporting Systems: Linux host OS, NodeJS / TypeScript, Docker

Compensation
- The salary range for this role is $170,000 to $210,000, depending on experience.
- Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots.
