Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and coach a team of accounting professionals, including workforce planning and career development initiatives
- Partner with internal stakeholders to establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with FERC and GAAP accounting standards
- Support the preparation, analysis, and delivery of financial reporting and insights to leadership
- Lead and execute complex accounting projects and process improvement initiatives
- Support capital project accounting and related financial reporting
- Partner with business leaders on divestitures, asset impairments, and valuation assessments, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Drive improvements to processes, controls, and systems supporting property accounting and capital management
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to fixed assets and capital expenditures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to fixed assets or property accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls
Nice to have
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience with property accounting, financial reporting, capital project accounting, or asset management environments
- Prior experience leading or supervising a team
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel), Oracle, and other financial systems
