Individuals who do not meet these criteria must be eligible to obtain the necessary authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Ability to perform soldering to standards required for spacecraft flight hardware.
Ability to use standard fabrication equipment such as 3D printers and machine tools.
Ability to use standard electronic and environmental test equipment.
High school diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education
ITAR Requirements:
To comply with U.S. Government export control regulations (ITAR), applicants must be one of the following: (i) a U.S. citizen or national, (ii) a lawful permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) an asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158. Constructing wiring harnesses and other cables requiring soldering from schematics, drawings, and oral instructions.
Fabricating and constructing mechanical assemblies from drawings and oral instructions.
Performing electrical or mechanical modifications, rework, and quality testing.
Performing light machining such as drilling, milling, metal lathe.
Performing component level environmental testing, such as, thermal, vacuum, vibe, capturing power profiles, and performing other testing in lab to screen components for use in flight.
Supporting assembly and environmental testing of spacecraft.
Maintaining and using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, fabrication equipment, 3D printers, laser cutters, machine tools, and related equipment.
