About the role
- As a Medical Assistant at Hometown Urgent Care, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare delivery by assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks.
- Your contribution will be vital in ensuring the safety, welfare, and comfort of our patients.
- Accurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic testing or screenings such as:
- Perform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples.
- Able to perform subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections and accurately complete paperwork according to policy for that procedure.
- Perform point of care testing such as:
- Dispense and document medications and other treatment modalities.
- Perform occupational medicine testing such as:
- urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, and DOT physicals Maintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA).
Nice to have
- 1-2 years previous experience working in a physician practice or clinic setting is preferred.
