Responsibilities
- Develop, revise, and maintain Piping/Process/Ventillation & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant3D or equivalent CAD software.
- Assist with development of drawing standards, CAD libraries, drafting procedures, and document templates.
- Perform drawing quality checks to identify inconsistencies, clashes, missing information, and opportunities for design improvement.
- Interface with fabricators, vendors, and construction teams to clarify drawings and incorporate field feedback into design revisions.
- Help establish efficient drafting workflows that support rapid design iteration within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting software for industrial facility design.
- Comfortable working from incomplete information and collaborating with engineers to develop evolving designs.
- Excited to work on first-of-a-kind industrial facilities where designs evolve rapidly through prototyping and testing.
Requirements
- Associate's degree, technical certification, or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of experience producing engineering drawings for industrial facilities or process equipment.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software.
- Experience producing piping layouts, equipment arrangement drawings, and construction drawing packages.
Nice to have
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience creating piping assemblies, equipment layouts, or plant models in 3D CAD environments.
- Familiarity with piping codes and standards such as ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, or equivalent industrial standards.
- Knowledge of instrumentation symbols, ISA standards, and process control documentation.
- Experience with commercial or governmental nuclear projects.
- Experience working in highly regulated industries with strong quality assurance and configuration management requirements.
- Passionate about clean energy and closing the nuclear fuel cycle.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, producing accurate, professional engineering drawings.
Compensation
- Salary: $80,000 - $130,000 DOE
