About the role

  • The Aerospace Quality Inspector ensures that components, assemblies, and processes meet regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in process parts, and finished aerospace assemblies. • Use advanced metrology tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM equipment. • Review, prepare, and verify First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102, material certifications, and test reports to support full traceability. • Review, verify, and issue FAA Form 8130 3 in compliance with FAA regulations, ensuring parts, components, and documentation meet airworthiness, traceability, and regulatory requirements prior to certification. • Audit production processes to ensure adherence to AS9100 standards, FAA regulations, and internal work instructions. • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials. • Initiate root cause analysis and participate in Corrective Action Board reviews. • Conduct incoming inspections of supplier provided parts and final buy off inspections prior to customer delivery. • Prepare inspection plans using data from blueprints, customer specifications, and procurement documentation. • Perform conformity inspections for newly designed parts to ensure they meet design and specification requirements. • Complete general quality and inspection duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T symbols.
  • Experience with ERP or MRP software and digital QMS platforms for data entry and recordkeeping.
