About the role

  • You will operate at the intersection of software engineering, performance engineering, and system reliability, with strong ownership of both functional automation and performance validation.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automated validation frameworks for APIs, distributed systems, and critical service workflows
  • Develop integration and end-to-end validation suites that reflect real production use cases
  • Design systems and tooling that improve testability, observability, and diagnosability
  • Drive reduction of flaky or low-signal tests to ensure high signal-to-noise automation
  • Design and implement load, stress, and endurance testing strategies for distributed systems
  • Build and maintain performance test frameworks and workloads that model real traffic patterns
  • Drive performance improvements by working directly in code, configuration, and infrastructure
  • Where a culture driven by excellence helps you not only meet your goals, but also create new ones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 4-6 years of experience in software engineering, SDET, or related roles
  • Hands-on experience with API and distributed systems testing
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter, Gatling)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems and modern development workflows

Nice to have

  • Experience in Production Engineering, SRE, or infrastructure-focused teams
  • Familiarity with microservices and cloud-native architectures
  • Experience with observability tools (e.g., metrics, logs, tracing-Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog)
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Exposure to resilience testing, chaos engineering, or fault injection
  • Experience modeling production traffic patterns or capacity planning

Skills

  • Strong systems thinking: understanding how components behave under load and failure
  • Analytical debugging across functional and performance issues
  • Pragmatic balance between engineering rigor and delivery speed
  • What Success Looks Like
  • Systems are validated against realistic production scenarios, not just functional correctness
  • Performance risks and scaling limits are identified before production exposure
  • Automation provides high confidence and actionable signal, not noise
  • Improved system reliability through proactive validation of edge cases and failure modes
  • Strong contribution to a culture of engineering ownership of quality and performance

Compensation

  • $118,000 - $148,000 - $178,000 USD.
  • A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is: $118,000 - $148,000 - $178,000 USD.

Benefits

  • Employees have Flexible Time Off (FTO), receive 11 paid holidays plus 3 floating days and are eligible for 14 weeks of primary caregiver or two weeks of secondary caregiver leave when welcoming new family members.
  • Identify gaps in validation coverage and proactively improve system confidence
