Responsibilities

  • Event Planning Support: Collaborate with the Community Team to plan and execute events and convenings for various programs and initiatives. This includes coordinating with program teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Community Team, including scheduling, note-taking, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for building relationships and engaging with various stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Event Planning Support: Collaborate with the Community Team to plan and execute events and convenings for various programs and initiatives.
  • The Community Team designs and executes best-in-class convenings across Schmidt Entities.
  • This internship offers hands-on experience in the operations, strategy, logistics, and creative production of convenings, while also providing opportunities for professional development, relationship-building, and cross-office collaboration.
  • Schmidt Sciences works to deepen human understanding of the natural world and develop solutions to global issues with science and technology.

Requirements

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities.

Nice to have

  • Experience with event-management platforms, relational databases, or project management tools (Airtable preferred).
  • Current enrollment or a recent graduate from a two or four-year degree program
  • experience in event coordination or a professional office environment is a plus.

  • On-Site Flexibility: Flexibility to travel within the U.S. (up to 10% of the time) on an as-needed basis, circumstances permitted
  • This is a non-exempt position.
