About the role
- Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications in alignment with functional and non-functional requirements
- Build high-quality, maintainable Java code following established design and coding standards
- Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure application correctness, performance, and reliability
- Contribute to the design and implementation of application components and services
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, helping to drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement
- Create and maintain clear system and technical documentation
- Partner with subject matter experts, architects, and peers to review and refine technical designs and specifications
- Support CI/CD practices, including automated builds, testing, and deployments
- Provide production support as needed, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and issue resolution
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting backend Java applications in an enterprise environment
Requirements
- Minimum 4 -6 years of related experience.
- Strong Java development experience using Core Java / Java EE and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC), including RESTful API development
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and source control, using tools such as Git or Bitbucket, Maven, and Jenkins
- Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban) and using tools such as Jira
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with messaging or integration technologies such as MQ or Kafka
- Experience working with SOAP services in addition to REST APIs
- Familiarity with code quality, security, and scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, Veracode)
- Experience with UI or end-to-end testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
- Solid experience with relational databases and SQL
- experience with Oracle and PL/SQL is preferred
