About the role
- Ability to operate equipment, including: skid-steer, forklift, and water truck.
- Engineer at the plant nurseries and greenhouse with tasks that include:
- replacement of irrigation tubing, greenhouse maintenance and planting, weed removal, salvaging and transplanting new plants.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Environmental Engineer to conduct regular inspections to check areas of compliance with company and regulatory requirements, and to identify and implement corrective measures.
- Environmental inspection: Assist the Environmental Engineer to conduct regular inspections to check areas of compliance with company and regulatory requirements, and to identify and implement corrective measures.
- Assist the Environmental Engineer with hazardous waste management and inspections Conduct fieldwork to investigate the nature and extent of any accidental spills Maintain documentation for inspections, spills, and corrective actions, including environmental SOPs, policies, and forms.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including land restoration, water conservation, reclamation, and biodiversity protection Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks and monitor work to ensure the highest quality.
- Reports all environmental concerns to supervisor Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Act in a responsible, professional, and safe manner at all times Punctuality and regular attendance required.
- Ability to take direction and to work as a team is required.
- While performing job responsibilities, employees must be able to communicate effectively and maintain situational awareness in an active mining environment.
- Use of hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, controls, or computer systems is required.
- Employees may be required to work while wearing the required PPE, including respiratory and hearing protection.
- These requirements are representative, but not all‑inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required of the employee.
Nice to have
- HAZWOPER, and DOT certifications for waste inspections and disposals preferred.
Skills
- Experience in the environmental, mining, or related fields is preferred.
Compensation
- Hourly pay will be $18-$20 per hour.
- Travel pay is paid 1.5 times the hourly rate.
- Paid 1 hour lunch and rest pay.
