About the role
- We are seeking a reliable, polished, detail-oriented, and hospitality-driven Busser to join the Moss New York team with Compass Group.
- Bussers play a vital role in maintaining the pace, cleanliness, and overall flow of service throughout the dining experience.
- This role is essential to creating a refined and seamless environment, ensuring that every table is reset efficiently, every dining space remains immaculate, and every guest feels cared for from arrival through departure.
Responsibilities
- The role of the Busser at Moss is to support the Server and ensure guests have an exceptional dining experience by maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the menu and be able to answer guest questions when necessary.
- maintain fresh ice in buckets and refill water pitchers as needed.
- Follow instructions from Servers, Managers, and teammates to support overall service flow.
- Sweep under and around tables as needed; maintain fresh ice in buckets and refill water pitchers as needed.
- Help maintain the bread, butter, and olive oil station.
- Maintain proper silverware inventory and participate in monthly counts.
- Together, Moss and Bedrock create a holistic environment where members can move, restore, and connect in a refined, community-focused setting.
Requirements
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and composure.
- Reset tables within two minutes of guest departure with correct spacing, alignment, and all required items.
- Flexible availability for AM and PM shifts, including weekends.
- Strong teamwork, professionalism, and a hospitality-first mindset with excellent communication skills.
- Genuine interest in seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine with a willingness to expand culinary and beverage knowledge.

Nice to have
- Minimum of 2+ years serving experience in a high-volume, service-driven restaurant environment
- upscale or chef-driven concepts preferred.
- Working knowledge of classic cocktails, foundational wine varietals, and beer styles
- fine-dining or craft beverage experience a plus.
Compensation
- The hourly wage for this position is $15.00/hour tipped hourly wage.
- Training wage during the orientation period is $17.00 per hour.
- This is a non-exempt, hourly position. In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), you are eligible for overtime pay at one and a half times your regular rate for all hours worked over 40 in a single workweek.
