Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Welding Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in welding, fabrication, quality, inspection, or related technical disciplines.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or ability to obtain certification within established company timeframes.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Sections I, IV, VIII, IX, and HLW requirements.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and supporting ASME certification and surveillance audits.
  • Experience with welder qualification programs, welding procedures, fabrication standards, and NDT methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and fabrication documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Power BI.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
  • 20% travel as required to support manufacturing operations, audits, training activities, supplier visits and field repair support.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification in active status.
  • ASME training certificates and demonstrated experience applying ASME Sections I, IV, VIII, IX, and HLW standards.
  • Experience with Epicor or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience leading manufacturing process improvement, lean manufacturing, or operational excellence initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct supervisory authority.

  • Scope of Position
  • This highly skilled, quality-focused, and continuous improvement-driven individual, as part of the Quality team, will be responsible for leading welding and fabrication excellence across the Fort Worth manufacturing operation.
  • This role develops, implements, and maintains welding standards, fabrication processes, training programs, certification requirements, and quality systems to ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, customer, and regulatory requirements while supporting safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • This position reports to Quality Manager.
  • This role is onsite and based in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the site subject matter expert for welding, fabrication, ASME code compliance, welder qualification, and weld quality.
  • Develop and maintain fabrication processes, fixturing, welding procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain training and certification programs for welders, fabricators, and NDT personnel in accordance with ASME, AWS, and company requirements.
  • Certify new and existing welding operators to applicable ASME requirements and company standards.
