About the role

  • The Paint Prepper is also responsible for preparing parts and equipment for paint including removing previously applied paint, cleaning, and degreasing, smoothing surfaces, and protecting unpainted surfaces by masking.
  • These duties require strong attention to detail to adequately prepare the trucks for the next stage in the high-quality manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor bodywork and maintain condition of vehicle or component through the entire paint process.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • The Paint Prepper performs a wide variety of tasks in support of manufacturing/production of concrete mixer and refuse truck parts and bodies.

Requirements

  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Requires the ability to understand the follow instructions.
  • Remove and replace all components as required for painting and sanding.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of applicable position experience.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment.

  • Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Read, analyze and interpret business manuals, technical procedures and/or government regulations.
  • Decision-Making: Requires minimal decision-making responsibility.
  • Complexity, Judgment and Problem Solving: Work of a relatively routine nature. Requires the ability to understand the follow instructions.

Compensation

  • Per 40 CFR 265.16(d)(1-3) - This position requires initial training within 6 months and annual thereafter as a hazardous waste handler as required by the EPA RCRA hazardous waste rules.
