About the role
- Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Patrols and monitors the RIT campus grounds to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Work is performed under close supervision using clearly prescribed methods and detailed instructions.
- Additional Details The Public Safety Department is a 24/7 operation, 365 days/year.
Requirements
- Knowledge of security operations, safety procedures, and basic law enforcement procedures
- Ability to quickly and critically assess security threats and determine appropriate action to prevent or mitigate harm
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and composed during potentially stressful or high-pressure situations, emergencies, or incidents
- 1 year of relevant experience
- The individual hired for this position will be required to have a pre-employment Motor Vehicle check, and the Motor Vehicle Report must clear RIT's Safe Driving Policy. (see Page 4)
- This will be required to ensure your application is processed in a timely manner.

Compensation
- In compliance with NYS's Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is listed above.
