About the role

  • Position Overview The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern United States (GACC South) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented full-time Events Intern (40 hours per week) to join our Atlanta office.
  • This 12-month internship, starting in August 2026, offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management, marketing, and international business.
  • The position is compensated at $15 per hour and follows a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of networking events, conferences, executive programs, and large-scale social events throughout Georgia and occasionally in surrounding states.
  • Research event venues, vendors, speakers, and potential partners, and support the coordination of event logistics.
  • Coordinate marketing and event-related activities internally and with external vendors, partners, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
  • Create and manage event registration pages and maintain accurate registration and attendee information.
  • Perform administrative and organizational tasks related to project and event management.
  • As an Events Intern, you will work with the Event Manager and collaborate with team members across different departments and regions to support the planning, organization, promotion, and execution of GACC South events.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in business administration, marketing, communications, event management, hospitality, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to use time and resources effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel.

Nice to have

  • German language skills are a plus but are not required.
