About the role
- This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for architecting and delivering power conversion solutions while mentoring engineers and partnering across systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and program teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design high-reliability power electronics including DC-DC converters and related subsystems such as inverters, motor drives, or battery-management systems.
- Perform circuit design, simulation, component selection, schematic capture, and guide PCB layout, thermal, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Lead hardware bring-up, integration, debug, verification, and qualification activities.
- Develop and review specifications, design reviews, test plans, and verification documentation.
- Provide technical mentorship and design guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure designs meet aerospace and defense reliability, environmental, and performance requirements.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- 10+ years designing power electronics for aerospace, defense, industrial, or other high-reliability applications.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools (Cadence Allegro, Altium, or similar).
- Experience using simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of power semiconductor devices.
- MOSFET experience required
- Experience supporting hardware through the full product lifecycle from architecture through qualification and production.

Nice to have
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
- Experience with radiation-tolerant or radiation-hardened electronics.
- Experience with motor control, reliability analysis (FMEA/MTBF), or system integration.

Compensation
- Phoenix, AZ $150,000.00-$200,000.00 Annually
- The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location.
- The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
- Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
