Responsibilities

  • Perform wetland delineations across upper Midwest states using federal and regional protocols.
  • Support project delivery through field surveys, data analysis, literature reviews, and technical reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and recommendations for clients.
  • Maintain quality, budget, and schedule expectations while supporting ERM's Impact Assessment team goals.

Nice to have

  • Influence environmental permitting and impact assessments for renewable energy and other critical sectors.
  • Minnesota Wetland Professional Certification Program (Certified Wetland Professional).
  • BS in environmental science, biology, natural resources, or related discipline (minimum 3.0 GPA) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years (5 years strongly preferred) in environmental consulting or related field.

Skills

  • Wetland delineation using U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual and Regional Supplements.
  • Plant identification, soil sampling, hydric soil identification, and hydrology indicators.
  • Strong data management and technical report writing skills.
  • Other:
  • Travel up to 50% in summer/growing season and 20% in off season
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments.

  • Professional Wetland Certificate (nationwide) and Assure Delineator (Wisconsin).
  • Experience with NEPA environmental assessments, permitting, and compliance documentation.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, and state/local agency requirements.

Compensation

  • For the Senior Consultant, Lead Wetland Delineator position, the anticipated annual base pay is $69,386 - $102,301 (USD).
  • Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs.
  • In some cases, pay may fall outside this range.
  • This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
