Build and maintain strong relationships with Beltway, national, and key local media, including reporters, editors, producers, podcasters, influencers, government communications counterparts, and partner organizations.
Partner with Advocacy Campaigns and internal teams to align communications tactics with campaign strategy, ensuring communications considerations are integrated into planning.
Execute advocacy-focused social media strategies that extend earned media moments, reinforce messaging, and drive engagement.
Train, prepare, and support warrior advocates to engage confidently with media, connect personal stories to policy priorities, and represent WWP effectively in high-visibility settings.
Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to develop clear, compelling, and accessible messaging for policymakers, media, and supporters.
Support team workflows, coordination, and consistent execution of advocacy communications initiatives.

Four years of experience in marketing, communications, public affairs, or a related field.
Three years of experience coordinating projects or initiatives across teams.
Three years of experience creating engaging content for social channels.
Two years of experience in advocacy, policy, and/or legislative affairs.
Two years of experience using media analytics tools.
Experience working on Capitol Hill or with a federal agency.
Experience working in the nonprofit or veteran services sector.
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, political science, or related field.
Master's degree in communications, marketing, business, political science, or related field.

Highly motivated, mission-driven communications professional with a strong commitment to improving the lives of America's veterans.
Demonstrated experience supporting and executing advocacy communications and earned media initiatives.
Strong understanding of integrated advocacy communications, including media relations, social media, digital engagement, and rapid response.
Skilled in ensuring advocacy communications align with organizational brand voice, standards, and positioning.
Ability to engage effectively across diverse political perspectives while remaining neutral and mission focused.
Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.

The estimated hiring range for this position is between $78,489 - 98,112 annual base salary, subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials.
This position may also be eligible for an annual performance incentive.
