Senior Technology Reporter, Ars Technica The Senior Technology Reporter will work with the Ars Technica team to produce daily content, including informed news and analysis, in the consumer technology field.

5+ years of demonstrated writing and research expertise in relevant subject matter
Deep working knowledge of the consumer technology landscape, including operating systems, PCs, mobile and desktop hardware, and relevant historical context
Collaborative team player and self-starting individual contributor, with ability to mentor less experienced writers where appropriate

Demonstrated ability to own a beat, set and meet coverage priorities, and identify stories before they become obvious

Willingness to work some early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as projects may require

The expected base salary range for this position is from $86,000.00 - $115,000.00.

Develop primary coverage areas while also writing occasional ad hoc stories as assigned
Work with editors and staff to generate story ideas, plan product coverage, maintain event awareness, and help guide Ars technology coverage
Integrate editor feedback on writing, reporting, quality, and coverage priorities
