About the role

  • The Gas Leak Survey Technician reports to the Assistant Manager or Supervisor at Bermex.
  • This position plays a key role in surveying gas lines, meters, piping, and surrounding areas for evidence of gas leaks using a Methane Leak Detector.

Responsibilities

  • Performs visual i nspections of gas meters, lines and fittings
  • The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.

Requirements

  • 1 year of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 6 or more months working outdoors.
  • 1 or more years of experience in gas services
  • Drug/alcohol testing is required
  • Drug/alcohol testing required per N on- R egulatory requirements for employees working with water, electric, and meters
  • Drug/alcohol testing required per Federal DOT r egulations for employees working with gas meters
  • This position requires a high degree of physical activity, working in a wide variety of weather conditions, excellent time management, and exceptional attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • 2 years of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 1 or more years working outdoors.

  • Exceptional flexibility in scheduling
  • Adequate time management skills to work in a timely manner
  • Excellent attention to detail for problem solving and finding
  • Ability to walk long distances and prepare for weather conditions, accordingly
