Own and Operate Database Systems Take end-to-end ownership of Amazon Redshift and PostgreSQL environments on AWS supporting customer-facing and internal platforms.
Stabilize and Build Lead stabilization of existing database systems while designing and implementing new capabilities as the platform evolves.
Performance and Reliability Design schemas, optimize queries, and tune databases to ensure high performance, availability, and scalability for production workloads.
Data Infrastructure Design, build, and maintain AWS-based data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and distribution across multiple applications.
Cross-Functional Partnership Work closely with engineering, product, analytics, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, well-integrated data solutions.
Technical Leadership Provide guidance through design reviews, documentation, and best practices, with room to grow into broader database architecture ownership over time.
AWS Database Operations Manage and optimize AWS services including RDS, Redshift, and related data components.
Demonstrated ability to operate independently, prioritize work, and own outcomes with minimal handholding.

Required Skills & Experience 7-10 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer in production, data-intensive environments.
Strong experience with Amazon Redshift, including schema design, distribution and sort keys, and performance optimization.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including replication, indexing, and performance tuning.
Proven experience designing and operating AWS-based data pipelines using services such as DMS, S3, Glue, Lambda, or Kinesis.
Solid working knowledge of AWS services including RDS, EC2, S3, and IAM.
Strong understanding of data modeling, normalization, and database design principles.
Experience with database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
What We're Looking For Required Skills & Experience 7-10 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer in production, data-intensive environments.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with MySQL or additional relational databases.

Experience with MySQL or additional relational databases.
Familiarity with data warehousing tools or platforms beyond Redshift.
Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) as they relate to data systems.
AWS certifications, including Database Specialty or Solutions Architect.
