About the role
- Sites vary in volume served, population, and schedule with consistent tasks and operations.
- Specific Responsibilities but are not limited to: Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
- Wear proper attire, i.e. uniforms, aprons, smocks, gloves, hairnets/hats, etc.

- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area.
- The Bowery Mission meets essential needs and creates transformative community with men, women, children, and families in New York so that we can together overcome homelessness and poverty and flourish.
- Maintain food handling best practices.
- Interact well with a variety of backgrounds, demonstrating the importance of each person and "loving people through food." Requires both consistency and flexibility to deliver reliable services in the midst of factors that change daily.
Requirements
- 2 years relevant experience in food service setting.
- (NY) Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Nice to have
- Knowledge in food and workplace safety.
- Experience working with the homeless of New York City.
- Proficiency with computers and smartphones.
