Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. (or equivalent) required
  • a 2-year technical degree (or equivalent) is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly is required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English is required
  • Must be willing and able to work in manufacturing environments to include
  • wearing safety equipment, such as earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, hardhats, hairnets, and steel-toed shoes are required
  • While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to stand
  • and will require the ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and push up to 65 lbs is required
  • Ability to work 8-to-12-hour shifts, fixed schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed on a regular basis as required.
  • A minimum of 2 or more years of related manufacturing/production experience is preferred
  • Previous work experience in a food manufacturing/GMP environment is preferred
  • Previous fork-lift experience is preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • experience troubleshooting equipment and machines is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills

Nice to have

  • Splicing and loading of web rolls onto unwind by job related equipment as needed.
  • Mixing of chemical vats.
  • Monitor machines, anticipate and respond to alarms as they arise.
  • Keep the machine area cleaned and organized.
  • Stack pallets by driving forklift or manually.
  • Empty trash from the area.
  • Check membrane quality at machine viewing station frequently.
  • Look for and eliminate common defects.

  • The Chemical Operator in the Membrane production area assists with the production of water elements (membrane).
  • Chemical Operators will be involved in different rotations on the production lines.
  • Operators rotate roles (described below) based on business, shift and ergonomics needs.
  • Besides the primary rotations, the operator needs to fix or adjust the machines with hand tools as needed.
