About the role
- There are currently two (2) openings for the Operations & Maintenance Technician I - Coater located at Soto Street Facility (Los Angeles, CA).
- This recruitment may result in an eligibility list*.
- Key duties include assisting with substrate preparation and applying protective coatings to critical water utility infrastructure-such as valves, pipelines, feeders, and gates-to mitigate corrosion and wear.
Responsibilities
- Support the core of water and power reliability by assisting in maintaining, stabilizing, or improving the quality of equipment within treatment plants conveyance and distribution facilities, shops and other occupied and unoccupied structures.

- The district imports water from the Colorado River and Northern California to supplement local supplies, and helps its members to develop increased water conservation, recycling, storage and other resource-management programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED in addition to minimal experience with hand tools and power tools associated with industrial coating applications.
- CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:
- Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent that allows you to drive during your employment is required at time of application.
