About the role
- The Utility Operator position is responsible for day-to-day maintenance throughout the plant, housekeeping in the plant, assist with loading of trucks and railcars, and the removal of lime/limestone waste from the plant to designated dump areas.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of kiln and kiln-related systems.
- Clean bins, conveyers, spills, material from under conveyers and catwalks, and other cleaning duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform General Plant labor in all operational areas of the plant.
- Continuously observe, monitor, and report any condition that could lead to equipment failure or a safety hazard.
- Perform all assigned work adhering to Company and governmental safety rules and regulation and follow company lock out tag out procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Must perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
- 1-2 years' experience in industrial environment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is required.
- Must have a telephone and be open to callouts.
- Must be able to tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to high temperature, noise, and dust.
