About the role

  • You will help to guide the development of future generations of quantum-atomic devices as they transition from the laboratory into the field.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicists, instrument designers, and code developers to specify sensor control requirements and make optimal trade-offs Guide the definition of control architectures for sensors Design low-noise analog, digital, and rf/microwave electronics Iterate existing electronics designs to adapt them for new operating conditions Conduct and participate in design reviews Create schedules and budgets for control system development Create work plans for electronics staff Track progress of electronics staff relative to project schedules Manage outsourced electronics development Collaborate with coders on development of software, firmware, and gateware Document new devices with block diagrams, schematics, interface control documents, bills of material, cable drawings, test procedures, and datasheets Contribute to proposals for further sensor development and applications
