Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for the support of manufacturing operations with respect to process development, improvement, testing, safety, quality, and cost.
- Supports develop of effective automated and manual systems for machine tending, material handling, and assembly operations.
- Supports manufacturing operations including thermal assembly, balancing, fluid transfer systems, servo pressing operations, as well as verification systems including in-process and post-process gauging methods/systems.
- Supports sourcing of new equipment and custom tools.
- Procures cost estimates and proposals to support planned growth, vetting suppliers for quality, capability, and reliability.
- Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Requirements
- At least 3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in semi-automated / automated assembly lines.
- Understanding of the APQP process is required.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is required.
- Experience with quality and lean processes & tools (PPAP, statistical analysis, 8D, 5S).
- Proficiency with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint) is required.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.
- Standing, walking, talking, hearing, and using hands/fingers to handle or feel may be required.
- Adequate hearing protection required for noise levels above 85 decibels.
- The ideal candidate would have at least an associate's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Controls Engineering. A BS in mechanical or electromechanical engineering is a plus. 6+ years as a Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice or Manufacturing Engineering Technician is also acceptable.
- An affinity for mechanical and electromechanical engineering & problem solving.
- Cognex Vision system programming experience is a plus.
- DFMEA, 3P, Design for Value, Design for Six Sigma type skills is a plus.
Nice to have
- The ideal candidate would have at least an associate's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Controls Engineering.
- A BS in mechanical or electromechanical engineering is a plus.
- 6+ years as a Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice or Manufacturing Engineering Technician is also acceptable.
- Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
- DC electric torque systems experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming is preferred.
- Experience with Servo Press equipment is a plus.
- Experience with robotic assembly equipment is a plus.
Compensation
- $70,400 - $96,800
