About the role

  • The Coordinator works within established priorities, timelines, and processes to help ensure effective delivery of policy work.
  • Key files could include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Assist with the preparation of project plans and proposals.

Responsibilities

  • This role provides administrative, research, and coordination support to policy initiatives, including assisting with project planning, gathering information, and supporting engagement with internal and external partners.
  • Support the coordination of project activities and working groups, including scheduling, logistics, and materials.
  • Conduct background research and information gathering to support planning activities.
  • Support the development of policy materials by organizing data and contributing to draft content
  • Maintain awareness of policy developments relevant to assigned files
  • Maintain organized records and filing systems for policy, project, and research activities
  • Support basic budget tracking by gathering and organizing financial information
  • Perform general administrative tasks in support of the team

Requirements

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills (primarily in English
  • Approximately 1-3 years of experience in policy, administration, or project coordination
  • Experience supporting projects, research, or consultations is an asset
  • Experience working with Inuit or Indigenous organizations is an asset

Skills

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Basic research and information-gathering skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to Inuit communities and priorities
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills (primarily in English; Inuktitut and/or French an asset);
  • Knowledge and understanding of Inuit land claim agreements are an asset;
  • Hardworking and committed to coordinating, delivery, organizing, and administering the policies and files;
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal relationship skills
