Responsibilities
- Apply company guidelines, federal and jurisdiction-level regulations, and client-specific rules when processing requests. Document all actions taken within internal and client-facing notes.
- Contribute ideas to improve processes and collaborate across departments.
- As a Criminal Research Specialist, you will conduct thorough and accurate research into individuals' criminal histories to support background screening processes.
- You'll collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality, compliant results for our clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field, or equivalent experience in criminal records research, legal, or court systems.
- Previous experience in background screening or related industry (criminal research, investigations, law enforcement).
- Strong knowledge of the U.S. criminal justice system and ability to interpret court cases and terminology.
- Familiarity with FCRA and state regulations
- ability to apply compliance standards.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines with accuracy.
- Contact courts and verified sources via phone, email, fax, and mail when additional research is required.

- This role is primarily remote (US-based) and will work in EST hours, with occasional visits to our offices for collaboration, training, or company events.
