About the role
- Schoeller-Bleckmann Energy Services (SBES), one of South Louisiana's premier API-certified manufacturing and re-manufacturing facilities, is currently hiring for a Manual Machinist position.
- Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
- Essential Function/Responsibilities: Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical principles and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
Responsibilities
- May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mechanics, metal, layout, and machining procedures.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variants to perform precision machining operations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills
- 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training.
- API knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
