Responsibilities

- You'll collaborate across disciplines, contribute to innovative, sustainable projects, and shape the communities we serve.
- IMEG's electrical engineers design power distribution, lighting, and specialty electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure.
- The team supports a wide range of work, from medium-voltage campus power systems to interior electrical layouts, including emergency power, UPS, and renewable energy integration.
- Electrical designs prioritize safety, reliability, code compliance, and seamless coordination with other disciplines to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient outcomes.
- Key areas of expertise and focus include lighting design, power systems, low voltage, smart buildings, energy codes, BIM, and photovoltaic/energy storage solutions.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards
- Proficiency in Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination,, etc.
- Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS
- Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Nice to have
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and contribute to research and innovation efforts within IMEG
- Prioritize safety by identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with electrical systems
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
- Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred
- 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry OR
- Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
- 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
- Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
