About the role
- This is your chance to shape legendary play that lasts a lifetime.
- Ensure all cards and mechanics in upcoming releases adhere to the team's current philosophies, balancing historical precedents with innovation and player understanding. - Shape tomorrow's Magic cards today.
- Proofread cards for text errors, layout inconsistencies, and typographical anomalies.
Responsibilities
- In partnership with your fellow editors and the Rules Management team, own the presentation and technical implementation of each new Magic card's language.
- Shape tomorrow's Magic cards today. Help game designers refine their mechanics and card designs. Regularly playtest upcoming Magic sets, contributing thoughtful and well-reasoned feedback.
- Support creative text development. Partner with Worldbuilding and Game Design leads to establish the creative and gameplay goals of each card, and ensure card names, flavor words, and flavor text align with and reinforces those goals.
- Life & Family Support
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Nice to have
- Familiarity with Smartsheet, Microsoft Office (esp Word), Adobe Suite (Acrobat, InDesign), and/or Confluence.
- Experience judging Magic tournaments or events.
- Bilingual in Japanese a plus!

Compensation
- $80,200 - $123,400 USD
