About the role

  • In this role, you'll be joining the Retail team.
  • The Retail team spans across 7 brick and mortar showrooms and over 40 Nordstrom locations, all crucial to supporting our customers.
  • This team specializes in looking at the diverse needs of our customers and uses their expertise to meet people where they are, guide them where they want to be, and seamlessly solve problems along the way.

Responsibilities

  • You will spend most of your time training and coaching in person, with a smaller portion of your time adapting and building supporting materials.
  • Partner with district and area managers to identify skill gaps and follow up on retraining needs.
  • Build job aids, quick-reference guides, and session decks that support the central curriculum.

  • Proven ability to lead engaging sessions and coach in a live setting across all levels, from new associates to store leadership.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel across regions, up to 50% of the time
  • Comfort traveling across your territory, including overnights.
  • Proficiency with everyday business tools (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office) and virtual platforms (Zoom, Teams, Meet).

Nice to have

  • You are not the owner of the central curriculum, but you are the person who brings it to life in the field and tailors it to what each team needs.
  • Provide on-the-floor reinforcement during and after launches, new product introductions, and seasonal pushes.
  • Share field feedback with leadership to improve and update programs.
  • Track attendance, completion, and post-training performance.
  • Provide debriefs to store leadership and the VP, Showroom Experience on what was covered and where follow-up is needed.
  • Stay current on product launches, selling techniques, and service standards.
  • 3 -5+ years of experience in training, facilitation, or a customer-facing retail leadership role, ideally in premium or specialty retail.
  • Content-creation ability using an LMS is a plus.

Compensation

  • $57k-$69k
