Responsibilities

  • Assesses and documents the competency of each staff member hired for the areas supervised.
  • Collaborates with the Educator (if applicable) on the orientation plan for new staff.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality within legal and regulatory parameters.
  • Organizes and maintains an ongoing mechanism for monitoring action plans and deficiencies for the nursing care division.
  • When facilitating quality teams, manages the work defined in the project charter/project plan/scope to ensure the project moves forward according to the project plan goals and timelines.
  • Maintains project plans/records such that they serve as an archive of project results.
  • Assists in developing policies, procedures, evidence-based practice guidelines, and performance improvement strategies to reduce risk and enhance patient outcomes.
  • This newly created position will manage the Vascular Access Specialty Team consisting of 3 RN's and the Inpatient Wound team of 4 RN's and 3 LVN's.

Requirements

  • Required: CA RN license
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Participates in Risk Management and Quality and Patient Safety meetings required for event investigation and processes related to policies, procedures and adverse events across the organization in alignment with CMS/CDPH standards.
  • Assists with patient care investigations, inspections, assisting both the Risk and Quality departments with identified issues, and working directly with senior leadership, management and providers to develop any required action plans for deficiencies.
  • License /Certification
  • Preferred: National certification in wound care, vascular access, and/or quality, Lean Six Sigma training
  • Education
  • Experience
  • Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of Joint Commission standards California's Nursing Practice Act Applicable sections of Title 22 and 17 Applicable Federal guidelines and regulations including HIPPA Policies and procedures for areas supervised National standards for areas supervised.

Nice to have

  • National certification in wound care, vascular access, and/or quality, Lean Six Sigma training
  • MSN or Master's Degree
  • Three years of clinical experience in wound care or vascular access
  • experience in quality, risk management, or patient safety projects
  • supervisory or leadership experience
  • Preferred: MSN or Master's Degree
  • Preferred: Three years of clinical experience in wound care or vascular access

Compensation
