Responsibilities
- This includes supervising and maintaining a safe environment for students in maintenance labs, developing and building classroom aids, and maintaining lab equipment, tooling, and aircraft.
- Maintain contact with the FAA and aviation industry as directed by the Aviation Maintenance Chief and/or the Executive Director of Aviation Programs.
- Support implementation of college and departmental missions and goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Aviation Maintenance Chief, Executive Director of Aviation Programs, and/or Academic Dean.
Requirements
- Faculty must have an Aims CTE Credential to teach these courses.
- The following are the minimum requirements to teach all AMT courses.
- AMT 1101: Current FAA Part 65 mechanic certificate with one or more appropriate ratings (Airframe and/or Powerplant) with a minimum of 1 year experience
- OR one-year documented military occupational experience in aircraft maintenance
- AMT 1102: Current FAA Part 65 mechanic certificate with one or more appropriate ratings (Airframe and/or Powerplant) with a minimum of 1 year experience
- AMT 1103: Current FAA Part 65 mechanic certificate with one or more appropriate ratings (Airframe and/or Powerplant) with a minimum of 1 year experience
- AMT 1104: Current FAA Part 65 mechanic certificate with one or more appropriate ratings (Airframe and/or Powerplant) with a minimum of 1 year experience
- AMT 1105: Current FAA Part 65 mechanic certificate with one or more appropriate ratings (Airframe and/or Powerplant) with a minimum of 1 year experience
- AMT 1106: Current FAA Part 65 mechanic certificate with one or more appropriate ratings (Airframe and/or Powerplant) with a minimum of 1 year experience
- AMT 2101: Current FAA Part 65 mechanic certificate Airframe rating with a minimum of 1 year experience
