About the role
- The core function of the Netflix product is to distribute our entertainment offerings (TV series, film, games, live events, podcasts, etc.) to our members.
- We do this via two main mechanisms: personalization algorithms and curated merchandising.
- The Personalization & Merchandising Science team is at the forefront of driving innovations in this problem space of content distribution.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of technical roles across data science and analytics engineering to shape the measurement and innovation strategy for the personalization and merchandising spaces, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders to drive durable business impact
- Own end-to-end outcomes for measurement and insights in your domain, ensuring the team delivers timely, decision-ready work that meaningfully shapes product direction and development
- Partner closely with other functions to frame the right problems, surface tradeoffs, and build a shared, causal understanding of content distribution
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence partners through clear framing, tradeoff articulation, and compelling data storytelling
- A track record of building high-performing teams by developing senior ICs into trusted thought partners, increasing both their individual impact and the team's overall leverage
