- This is NOT a remote position You must live within 30 miles of the posting city Educational Consultant (Math) - Per Diem - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Are you a retired educator or educator transitioning out of the classroom?
- Hours: Per Diem consultants are scheduled on an as-needed basis, paid hourly.
Responsibilities
- Schedule is highly dependent on customer demand - professional development is usually scheduled with partners during normal school hours.
- Our peak times of the year include August through October and then again January and February, although we deliver professional development throughout the school year.
- This may range from providing lesson planning and pacing support, to helping educators analyze data and apply it to instruction, to working with leaders to identify evidence of implementation successes and challenges
Nice to have
- Strong working knowledge of the State Standards for Mathematics for Grades K-8 including both the content standards and the practice standards.
- Understanding of the ELA Standards for K-8 also preferred
- Excellent computer and internet skills including knowledge of Office programs (Outlook, Word, PPT, etc.)
- knowledge of online meeting programs (e.g. Zoom/WebEx) a plus
Skills
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
- Proven organizational skills and high attention to detail
Compensation
- We offer a competitive hourly rate starting at $65/hour for educator-facing professional learning delivery.
- Additional compensation is provided for preparation, co-facilitation, internal meetings, travel, and other required work activities.

- Help to ensure equity in the classroom by delivering professional learning courses to teachers, coaches, and leaders on how to effectively implement Ready and i-Ready to impact classroom learning
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2+ years of experience in teaching Mathematics, coaching teachers of Mathematics, and providing Mathematics professional learning.
- To best serve our educators and students, we would love to see experience teaching mathematics at the secondary (6-12) level and/or with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Mathematics education
- Understand principles of adult learning and
- Serve teachers in the classroom by coordinating on-site product training and professional learning courses for teachers and school administrators.
- how to apply them to professional learning to ensure participants meet learning objectives
