About the role

  • Genetic Counselor Assistant (GCA) role is integral in providing high-quality care to patients and families undergoing genetic services and molecular testing.
  • Genetic Testing Coordination and Patient Facilitation
  • Serving as the primary liaison between patients, genetic counselors, and laboratories for genetic testing.

Responsibilities

  • The GCA will work under the supervision of Genetic Counselor Manager, contributing significantly to various aspects of our service through effective organization, communication, and administrative support.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

Skills

  • Bachelors Degree biology, genetics, health administration, or a related field OR
  • Associates Degree and two years of expereince OR
  • 4 or more years experience in healthcare or laboratory setting in leu of education
  • Registered RN with 1 year of experience
  • Experience in a genetics specialty
  • Proficient in medical software, electronic health records, and database management.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN)
  • Multi-State
  • State Board of Nursing
  • Fluent English -
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced medical environment
