About the role
- Genetic Counselor Assistant (GCA) role is integral in providing high-quality care to patients and families undergoing genetic services and molecular testing.
- Genetic Testing Coordination and Patient Facilitation
- Serving as the primary liaison between patients, genetic counselors, and laboratories for genetic testing.
Responsibilities
- The GCA will work under the supervision of Genetic Counselor Manager, contributing significantly to various aspects of our service through effective organization, communication, and administrative support.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
Skills
- Bachelors Degree biology, genetics, health administration, or a related field OR
- Associates Degree and two years of expereince OR
- 4 or more years experience in healthcare or laboratory setting in leu of education
- Registered RN with 1 year of experience
- Experience in a genetics specialty
- Proficient in medical software, electronic health records, and database management.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN)
- Multi-State
- State Board of Nursing
- Fluent English -
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced medical environment
