About the role

  • The Associate Equipment Specialist is a technical position that requires basic technical skills as well as a basic understanding of machining, turning, grinding, and other metalworking fabrication methods.
  • Able to work on tasks encompassing complete projects or portions of projects under the guidance of a Senior Equipment Specialist or Management

Responsibilities

  • Additionally, this position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and ability and willingness to learn all toolroom machinery as well as CAD design software.

Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
  • This position requires the basic ability to read and interpret blueprints and some knowledge of geometric tolerancing.
  • Requires ability to learn and successfully run mills, lathers, saws, drills, and other shop machines.
  • Requires ability to solve problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • Requires ability to learn materials and which to use to fabricate fixtures and tools
  • Requires the ability to juggle priorities to align with the department priorities.
  • Ability to do physical work and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work under fast-paced conditions

  • 1+ year in comparable mechanical position
