Responsibilities

  • You will architect, develop, validate, and roll out distributed systems and software load balancers that support Box's internal and external networking infrastructure.
  • You will take end-to-end ownership of technical solutions - from ideation and design through delivery, rollout, and impact measurement.
  • You will proactively identify opportunities to improve Box's network and platform infrastructure and drive those improvements to completion.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver networking solutions that solve real business problems and improve platform reliability.
  • Box's Network as a Service (NaaS) team owns every network interaction at Box - from the edge of our platform to the deepest layers of our internal infrastructure.
  • As a Senior Software Engineer on the NaaS team, you will drive the architecture, development, and rollout of critical networking solutions end-to-end.
  • You'll collaborate with experienced engineers from leading technology companies, mentor teammates, and take full ownership of problems from ideation through impact measurement.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or platform/networking engineering.
  • You have hands-on experience with load balancers (L4/L7), AWS, and Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency with at least one of: Go, Java, C/C++, or Rust
  • You have experience mentoring engineers and contributing to the technical growth of a team.
