- Health and Safety Coordinator

- Reports To: Health and Safety Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead by example in promoting a safe work environment by consistently adhering to and reinforcing the company's safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Offer expert advice and assistance to Operations and Support Services teams to support the successful execution and maintenance of a robust OHS program.
- Deliver employee safety orientations, coordinate emergency response training, and organize both internal and external training sessions for operational staff.
- Support the development and maintenance of Site Preparedness and Emergency Response Plans and related procedures.
- Assist in conducting joint field audits, providing recommendations to Operations and Support Services management for continuous improvement.
- Support managers in identifying training needs and conducting gap analyses across all contracts to ensure workforce competency.
Requirements
- Coordinate and conduct internal audits required for maintaining SAFE and COR certifications.
- Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
- Other duties as required.
Skills
- Strong understanding of applicable safety legislation and regulations in British Columbia and Alberta.
- Formal training in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) certification is preferred.
- Experience with return-to-work and disability management programs considered an asset.
- Class 5 drivers license and abstract with less than 6 demerits.
- Successful applicant must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- A safety conscious attitude.
- Punctuality, dependability, and accountability in the field.
Compensation
- Pay rate of $59,000 to $70,000 annually.
- Overtime, statutory holiday, and vacation pay.
