About the role
- The Mental Health Technician is an incredible opportunity to expand your role in health care through functioning as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary treatment team.
- This role is responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients while assisting with the provision of basic patient care and recovery needs.
Responsibilities
- You will support the unit through excellent patient customer service and clinic management assistance
- You will perform a variety of functions within the clinic setting requiring specialized knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data
- You will assist with maintaining a safe and hazard free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions and applying appropriate emotional and physical support
- You will provide and document interventions in a variety of modalities individually matched to the needs of each patient

Requirements
- If assigned to Navos Hospital, BLS certification is required prior to starting.
- If assigned to Navos Hospital, First Aid training is required prior to starting.
- If assigned to Navos Hospital, Food Handler's Card is required within first two weeks of hire date
- Washington State Counselor Agency Affiliated Registered (ACCR ) credential must be applied for within thirty (30) days of hire.
- Partnering with patients, families and neighbors across the Pacific Northwest for more than 140 years.

- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or any other human services field preferred and/or in lieu of education, will take 1 year of experience.
- The credential must be obtained upon issuance by the Department of Health.
