About the role
- U.S. RMBS Credit Ratings, Assistant Vice President - New York Morningstar DBRS is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its U.S. RMBS Credit Ratings group as an Assistant Vice President in New York.
- This role offers the opportunity to deepen your structured finance expertise, work closely with senior analysts, and interact with external market participants in a collaborative and analytical environment.
- The ideal candidate brings strong quantitative skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with structured finance or mortgage‑related products.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a co‑lead or back‑up analyst on selected transactions.
- Collaborate with senior analysts to ensure accurate and consistent application of criteria.
- Perform sensitivities, transaction comparisons, and stress‑testing tasks under the guidance of senior team members.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, math, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in structured finance, securitization, banking, mortgage finance, or a relevant analytical role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard Office applications.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
- If any conflicts of interest are identified, then you will be required to liquidate those holdings immediately.
- In addition, dependent on your department and location of work certain employee accounts must be held with an approved broker (for example all, U.S. employee accounts).
- If this applies and your account(s) are not with an approved broker, you will be required to move your holdings to an approved broker.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
- Organized, deadline‑driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
