About the role

  • The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) invites applications for four Teaching Assistant (TA) positions for the 2026-27 Fall session.
  • The TAs will report formally to the JSGS Director of Administration, and their work will directed and supervised by the respective course instructor.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with grading work; Helping to maintain the class and/or online discussion forums (as applicable); Providing tutorials on economics and/or briefing note writing to students (as applicable); Conferring with and taking direction from the instructor; and Providing assistance with other course matters as assigned.

Requirements

  • September 2 to December 31, 2026 Qualifications (Skills and Abilities) Candidates for JSGS 805 must have an economics-related background and possess quantitative skills.
  • Candidates for JSGS 806 require experience with public policy analysis and a strong understanding of Canadian governance.
  • For JSGS 891, familiarity with the MPA competencies at JSGS is required.
  • Experience working in the public sector would be an asset.
  • For all positions, a master's degree in economics, political science, public administration, public policy, or equivalent is required.
  • Experience as a TA would be an asset.
  • The incumbents must be registered in a graduate program at the University of Saskatchewan and be in good standing with the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
