About the role

  • The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and setting up CNC laser machinery.
  • As the laser operator you are also responsible for the cutting of metal parts and ensure they are cut to the right specification.
  • Also set up and adjust the machine lens to meet the correct specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections.
  • Maintain production schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain the machine.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to manage sheet steel and consumables inventory.

Requirements

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Ability to load programs, set machine parameters and proper fixtures to ensure optimal performance of equipment.

Skills

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 6 Months+ CNC Laser operator experience (Fiber Laser preferred)
  • Willing to train
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to understand basic fractions to decimal conversions and knowledge of numbers and dimensions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks.
